Pirates of the Amazon, The Treasure of Mystery Island
POSTPONED
Shelby County Players is excited to share that our brand-new theatre is nearing completion! As construction continues, we have made the decision to postpone the performances of Pirates of the Amazon: The Treasure of Mystery Island to Fall 2025. This decision allows our talented performers and production team the opportunity to deliver a truly spectacular children’s show that matches the high standards you’ve come to expect from us.
All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled performances. If you are unable to attend in the fall, refunds are available upon request. Please contact us at [email protected] or leave a voicemail (317-392-6844) for assistance.
Activities for our production of Woody Allen’s comedic farce, Don’t Drink the Water begin with auditions February 23-25 with performances May 2-10, 2025. More details can be found on www.ShelbyCountyPlayers.org including our summer production of Murder on the Orient Express.

A cascade of comedy and a solid hit on Broadway, this affair takes place inside an American embassy behind the Iron Curtain. An American tourist – a caterer by trade – and his wife and daughter rush into the embassy two steps ahead of the police who suspect them of spying and picture-taking. It’s not much of a refuge, for the ambassador is absent and his son, now in charge, has been expelled from a dozen countries and the continent of Africa. Nevertheless, they carefully and frantically plot their escape, and the ambassador’s son and the caterer’s daughter even have time to fall in love.

Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of the year, but by the morning it is one passenger fewer. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed eight times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer – in case he or she decides to strike again.
