Nominations & ENCORE winners

SCP is a member of the Encore Association, and Indianapolis area community theatre organization organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes.  Encore hosts an annual awards ceremony to recognize excellence from its member theatres.

Chris Cox, an SCP life-long advocate and volunteer, has been honored with the 2021 E. Edward Green Award for lifetime achievement from the Encore Association.

Since 1991 Chris has been seen on stage in over 50 productions, where she crafted each character, bringing them to life before our eyes.  In addition to lighting up faces with her theatrical spirit, she also served as a crew member for over 30 productions.   Chris also spent her time serving as SCP’s liaison for community outreach and served on SCP’s Education Committee as the bridge, linking the surrounding schools in Shelby County to SCP.  She helped SCP become the driving force and presence that we are known for today.  On behalf of SCP and the Encore association, we congratulate Chris and thank her for her resilience, dedication and artistic contribution to the Shelby County Players.
